Recently someone close to me has passed away and I was depressed. My therapist gave me suggestions to overcome this sadness and I chose poetry. Thank you and please be honest about my writing. xoxo.

I remember the days,
When we used to be together,
Laughing and playing not knowing,
Where we were till it was dark.
Then all it really was, was an imagination.
And to know you are really not there,
It really sinks in, you know,
When I see it in stone.

Colours are flashed in the sky,
The beauty is beyond.
It reminds me so much of you,
All smiling and the way,
The light gets in your eyes,
It blows me away.
It’s where we belong,
In a world of imagination,
Where everything else is forgotten.
Then reality kicks in,
When I see it in stone.

My thoughts are all around you,
It keeps me awake at night.
I drift into dreams of you where,
I am totally lost,
But still am flying high.
Before I can go any further,
Reaching out for you,
There pops in front of me,
The symbol of you in a stone,
And I am awoken,
By the lost of you,
A great feeling of sadness envelopes me.

It always sinks in,
When I see you,
Encased in the stone,
The stone that,
Brings me back to reality.
The realisation that,
I have lost you forever.
