Jennifer stopped the car in the middle of the road. For the first time in this whole ordeal she knew just what she wanted. Finally something made sense. She turned the car around and pulled back into the parking lot. She grabbed her purse and started to get out of the car. Then she realized her seat belt was still locked. She fumbled with the belt and got out of the car. She ran back to the ticket counter that she had just stood at with Adam.
"Can I help you?"
"One ticket please."
"To?" The ticket clerk asked a little annoyed that the woman wanted her to be a mind reader as well. It wasn’t her day to deal with all the crazies, was it?
"Sorry. Chicago."
"We have one leaving at five."
"No the one leaving now."
"Oh, I'm sorry, it's booked solid."
"Look I have to get on the plane. If I don’t I might have just made the niggest mistake of my life."
"Just a moment." The girl typed in some stuff on her computer. "I have one seat left in first class."
"I'll take it." Jen handed the agent her credit card. The agent handed her the ticket and card back. "Gate eight." Jennifer ran down the gateway and through the metal detector to gate eight. The attendant was just about to close the door. "WAIT!"
"You're just in time." The attendant punched her ticket and let Jen in. Jennifer made her way to her seat and could see Adam seated a few seats ahead of her.
She could hear him from where she was. He had a picture of him and her. Just then he began to talk. "Jen, I love you. I want you to go to Chicago with me. I know how much you love Florida, but I need you. I need you here with me. I'm ready to get married if you'll just get on a plane and come up here."
The older woman next to him overheard this as well. "She's a very lucky lady."
“She would be if I could say that to her."
"Why couldn't you?"
"Her job is here, her family is here, and the fact that I haven't told her I love her to her face. And I do love her. I just can't ask her to leave everything for me."
The conversation ended as the flight attendant began her safety speech and the plane began to roll down the runway. "This is the nonstop to Chicago. Our flight time is three hours and fifty minutes."
After they were in the air the woman next to Adam got up to go to the restroom. As she walked down the isle she looked at Jennifer and a look of recognition came across her face. Jen held her breath as the woman kept walking and only let it out when the woman returned and kneeled down beside her. "Don't worry I won't ruin your surprise. Would you like to trade seats?"
"No ma’am I don't know what I would even say to him."
"Don't worry it will come to you. That is if you love him too."
"Oh I do. Adam is my world. And I was about let him leave."
"Then go tell him you love him."
Jennifer rose and began walking towards Adam. Just as she began to say something to him, they hit a patch of turbulence and she fell right into his lap.
"Jennifer?"
"Adam." She tried to get up out of his lap, but his arms wrapped around her. "Don't move." He kissed her slowly. "I love you, Jennifer. Don't leave me. I want to spend the rest of my life with you."
"That wasn't so hard was it?"
"It is because I don't know how you would feel?"
"I love you, too and would follow you anywhere." Then they started giggling like two school kids and began kissing.
