I have two poems, this is the first the second is 'This Place' both relate to each other. The room represents me as a person.

This room is darker than I remember
A little dustier,
A few more cobwebs
A little colder,
The candle dies.
The windows are covered,
Daylight distinguished,
The walls are empty,
My memories erased.
What was once home
Silence steals from my heart
Until time disappears
 And hope returns.

Very nice representation of being in a dark place. I hope you will bring the broom out, get some better lighting, and buy yourself a new pair of curtains! :)

"Until time disappears
And hope returns"

At times i wish hope would return back into my life. i'm so miserable as of lately... your poem made me think of something... something distant.

Something good I hope? I think it's within all of us to be happy and therfor we desire and find reason. This is about me following that course, finding that place again that I know is inside of me. Each day it gets closer, and you should believe it too! ;) Nice to hear from you Lexie, thanks for reading. ~ Nixie

Enigmatic! It is great when you can feel that life is going to a new level and you can wait for better days or moments. Hope is always welcome !

Hi Nixie. What I like about your poetry is that it has a timeless feel. As if it could be written in any century. Here's a great quote about hope I found recently:
"Hope may not change your circumstances, but hope can change your attitude, which will change your outcome, which in time may change your circumstances."
By Howard Hewett, famed recording artist
All the best to you. Ricky.

Thank you Ricky! That quote rings bells with me, and how true too. This really relates to the poem which is about me and how I see myself and the outcome that follows, which seems to be me back the same place I was years ago. It's a familiar place, but not where I'd expected to be again. I don't know that I make sense but there it is! Thanks again Ricky, have a lovely Christmas! ~ Nixie
