“Astrid”

I was walking through the woods one afternoon. All of a sudden, there she was! She appeared as if from nowhere. Her face was in a permanent scowl. Her beady, piercing, bloodshot eyes stared at me.

She had a long crooked bony nose with a large crusty wart at the very tip witch was oozing with putrid, yellow, infectious goo. Her hair was as black as the Grim Reaper’s cloak. The slime was the product of the slugs and worms that made a home in her matted and mangled map.

She spoke to me in a dry, raspy voice that reminded me of sandpaper being scratched against a board. She said “Get lost boy!” I was standing a good 15 feet from her but her breath knocked me over. It was the most putrid smell that ever entered my nostrils. It was a combination of garbage and rotting flesh. I said to myself two words, “Tic Tac.”

Her clothes were musty and covered in mildew. They had clearly never been washed. Her skin was yellow from never experiencing the warm kiss of the sun. It was as thin as tissue paper and I could see every bone protruding from each joint.

Her legs were short and stumpy. I could see that her little toe on each foot was missing. I had wondered if that was because she had eaten them
