Senseless days I wandered about

Longing for her special touch

Sleepless nights I lay awake

Praying my love she would take.

Hours turned to days, years to tears

Not to find her edged my fears

Every chance I yearned to search

Wondering always about my birth.

They said she loved me that was why

She gave me up without a goodbye

The best she wanted for me they say

That is why she walked away.

Never to look back her deed was done

Not a word of me uttered to anyone

She traveled the globe settling in

Bowling for dollars and drinking Gin.

A forgotten past to her I became

Until I called her and said my name

Wanting me not as I prayed she would

No love had she for motherhood!
