Souring through the mountains
looking big and regal,
beautiful but lethal
flies the Golden Eagle.

His nest high in the rock face
away from the forest green,
a secret place away from man
only his victims have seen.

His tallons are black and deadly
the plummage is all dark brown,
but as his name suggests
he wears a golden crown.

While gliding in the sky
he sees his prey down on the ground,
and swoops with such velosity
but doesn't make a sound.

The victim hasn't got a chance
and Goldie doesn't miss,
surely there has never been
a predator like this.
