Silver tongued promises and false hopes spoke to me with ease from a so called friend.

My heart tells me to believe everything he or she would say.

But my inner voice, my gut feelings tell me nay.

As I glance into their eyes and see the deception is nigh.

He eyes are a window to your inner soul they say.

Look in my eyes and you’ll see my inner soul’s purity with nothing to hide, and only seeking true friendship inside.

Their own personal gain fulfilled or never obtained.

I have nothing to offer other than being a friend.

I’m cast to the side again and again.

I am forsaken because I don’t fit in, Jesus help me through it again.

It’s better to deceived fast, than to be deceived slowly over a long time.

So I move on and make my rhyme and hope for better luck next time.
