Moving home and moving on.

Also, I really liked a couple lines from an old poem, but hated the rest so I wrote a new one to house the lines I liked.

1500 Miles

The distance that now lies between us
is a blessing in disguise,
it's helped me learn a fair few things
since we said our last goodbyes.

Though it's so hard to walk away
when you're walking on weak knees,
I've found my lungs can breathe without you
in my new home overseas.

Now even things that used to make
me only think of you
don't seem to look the same to me
from my brand new shiny view.

I haven't even prayed for you,
like I often used to do,
I'd pray that you would sing to me
the songs we only knew.

In fact i think there's someone new
who I'll give all my affection,
maybe this time I'll be happy,
instead of tasting more rejection.

I haven't had a dream of you,
nor prayed for 60 days,
instead of you I dream about
this new girl's loving gaze.

But if those prayers are answered and
once more I hear you sing,
all those times before you broke
my heart won't mean a thing.
