Queers Aren’t Meant To Love
'Only once you've lost everything are you
free to do anything:' well that simply isn't true.
I can barely move these days, since I waved
goodbye to you.
I always said you were an angel,
you always kept me warm,
but i never got the chance to say,
"thanks for simply being born."
We were the names around the town,
the men everyone knew,
until one day they'd had enough,
they beat him black and blue.
They strung him up and lit the fire,
'pretty boy''s chances were slim.
They wouldn't know a real man if
they killed him.
Forever I'll be sorry,
I know I'm not worth dying for.
I'll never love another soul,
it's you that I adore.
And while I can't see you in heaven, in
the clouds and in the light,
I'd bet a million bucks you look
a million bucks tonight.
I loved the way you always said
you loved the way I danced,
Well I loved the way you breathed,
but we just never stood a chance.
At least for you the worst is over,
as you smile down from above.
'Cause down here what they say is true,
us 'queers' aren't meant to love.
