Love's Lonely Dawn

Tis the dawn that beckons me

that awakens in me the longing for a love long lost...

Promises made etched deeply in the corners of my heart

Memories stir my soul

memories of a dawn that beckoned me...

Awake, Awake, my love awaits me...tis dawn

Memories of love so new, bright with the promise of forever...

Dawn, days turn to weeks and weeks into months

Yet still dawn calls me back, back to that place where you left

me bereft of all, my heart in pain, waiting, hurting, longing...

Dawn, once more I return to that place, here I leave my soul too

for I know not when you return

Dawn, another day maybe today...

Promises made by you inscribed with thorns deeply in

my heart, my soul...never to heal

Dawn a new day, New hope, maybe this day

This dawn, you will return to me my love

Keeping the promise made of love forever ...

Tis the dawn that beckons me...awake, awake, my love awaits...
