My One

I close my eyes so as to help me see,

I shut my mind off from all distraction,

And there is the girl that is meant for me;

The girl with whom I'll share love's attraction.

Our love will know no flaw - have no limit.

A simple affection as pure as gold,

No man nor woman will ever doubt it,

With her I'll stay, with her I will grow old.

I will admire her vices, though few,

Her weakness, her subtle vanity.

I shall forgive her every virture,

No matter how many of them there be.

As I think of her, in my mind I see,

She knows not my name yet she thinks of me.
