Around the globe, more and more human rights are being violated without correction. Such can inevitably lead to even more varieties of injustice. Such is another example of world leadership without a moral compass. (Image by Nancy’s point)

We Dominoes Falling

Buried long amidst fear and repression

a world gazes at television screens in wonder

so many of like mind

so many of like purpose

so many insistent on freedom

Where is our insistence?

We are not of like mind

we are not of like purpose

for too many remain trapped

insistent on membership in the two percent

Yet the mind

its purpose

its freedom

its health

rests not on trappings of wealth

Shouldn’t it be obvious to us,

these foreign countries with raw needs and wants,

asking but for simple entitlements of civilization,

sending messages for all to hear,

that the poor of any country can also exponentially grow?

And yet…

Some would sit back and wonder

at our own silence of eruption,

our continued stifling of tremors below,

quashing the need for release.

Our glistening ducts emit but muted cries down the face of truth,

forming tears of quiet pain,

even as we rejoice at the tenacity of another's courage.

To support oneself,

to see power's abuse destroyed,

to build a life imbued with love,

free from repression and exploitation,

such is the goal of man's rights made alive by acting,

or forever be caught in the dominoes-freefall.
