Poem about a broken hearted girl.

She sat in the dark
Staring up into the sky,
Concentrating on one breath
At a time.
Each star reflected
In every tear that fell.
Her thoughts were flying,
Yet her heart was sinking.
Everything she had ever wanted,
Every dream she had ever had,
All her wishes she had ever hoped for
Were slipping through her fingers,
Falling into the grass
Beneath her feet,
Lost in the morning dew.
A broken heart that
Would never heal.
She wanted to run,
Hard and fast,
Away from her past
And her uncertain future.
She closed her tear-filled eyes
Against the darkness
And cried.
For nothing hurt her more
Than knowing she had
All but lost control.
The night was closing in
Around her.
With her face buried in her hands,
She silently screamed.
Surely this was nothing more
Than another bad dream.
She would wake up soon.
Knowing it was a lie,
That her nightmares
Were in fact her reality,
She wiped her tears and stood.
One last glance at
A star-filled sky,
And she turned to step indoors.
Its just one more
Broken midnight.
