Missing that certain someone....

When I'm sitting at home
On the couch with the tv on,
I'm not really watching
Just flipping through channels.
I'm missing you next to me.

When I'm driving to work,
The radio on and the
Windows rolled down,
I'm watching the road,
But I'm missing you next to me.

When I'm out at the lake,
Laughing and talking,
Getting some sun,
I'll be happy for now but
In the back of my mind,
I'm missing you next to me.

When I'm dancing around
The old hard wooden dance floor,
Spinning and twirling,
Losing myself and my heart
To the music,
I'm missing you next to me.

When I'm lying in bed with
The covers pulled close,
The lights all turned off and
The fan on low.
Falling towards sleep,
I'm missing you next to me.

When I sit down at the table
Ready to eat,
I open the newspaper
And read to myself,
Look at that chair next to me and
Know that I'm missing you next to me.

When I'm out in the pasture,
Alone late at night,
I'm laying down on the grass
Staring up at the stars.
And not a single tear will fall, but
I'm missing you next to me.
