Foreword Note From the Authors...

This short story is like a add on to the Harry Potter Series, by Queen (J.K. Rowling). The story takes place after the end of book 7, the Deathly Hallows. We love all of the Harry Potter Books so much, we decided to write one!

Prologue

When the Battle of Hogwarts was over, Harry Potter headed off to the Gryffindor common room. Hermione thought about following him. She decided not to, because Harry needed to be left alone for a while. Instead, she went to the party happening in the Great Hall. The dead corpses were gone of course, so the mood was better than ever. There was a feast set up for everyone and Ron was already gobbling down a chicken leg. Hermione sat down and looked at the food choices. Strangely, there weren’t any new ones. She started eating.

Later, before the party was finished, she decided to go up to the Gryffindor common room. She was surprised to see Harry sitting in a chair, staring at the fireplace. He turned his head at the sound and said, “Couldn’t fall asleep.” That was all Hermione needed to understand to him, as he got up and went to the boy’s dormitories.

Hermione sat on the couch and nearly fainted. Harry died, then came back to life and destroyed Voldemort. Whoa. Eeek. Help! Ron came in and sat down next to her. He could always tell when Hermione was thinking, because she furrowed her brows. He sat like that with her for about 30 minutes, then finally spoke.

“Exciting day, huh?”

“Really, Ron? I just want to think about what to do next.

“ How about we just… I don’t know, …”

His voice trailed off, and he went into his dormitory.

End Of Prologue

Chapter 1

Hermione POV

Before Hermione went to sleep, she packed her bags, because the train was leaving tomorrow, and spread out her best robes for 7th year graduation. Then she practiced spells until she couldn’t stay awake any longer. She fell asleep soon after.

The next morning got off to a really rough start. Ginny had come in and woken Hermione up. She’d made her come down and stare at all the dead bodies and cry with her. Hermione tried to get away to see if all the house elves were okay, but as soon as Ginny stopped crying, they went to eat breakfast. Hermione did not eat a lot. She just thought, and thought, and thought some more. That was all she wanted to be doing these days.

After break, Headmaster McGonagall announced that the train was leaving at 5:00. Hermione immediately went to the library to get her books back. She had thrown them somewhere when the great Battle of Hogwarts started. She found them not in the library, but on her bed. When she came downstairs she saw Harry. It wowed her to see he was down from his dorm, much less talking to Ron. Maybe he's feeling better, she said to herself, as she plopped down on the couch where they were sitting. “So,” she said, “How are you doing, Harry?”

Chapter 2

Hermione POV

Hermione was home at last. She had graduated and was very happy with her grades.  But she wasn’t completely satisfied. What was wrong with her friend? He should be happy, not sad. After all, he killed the greatest dark wizard the world has ever seen! Hermione could now call Voldemort by his real name. Not “You-Know-Who, or “He Who Must Be Named”.

She was very tired and wanted to fall asleep right here, right now, But her mind wouldn’t let her. She could only think of Harry. She wondered if he was okay. He seemed a bit depressed when she last saw him in the common room.

“No,”  she thought to herself. “He should be fine, he is just stressed.” She headed down to the kitchen to make herself some tea to think, and sat down.

A little while later she had decided to send Ron a letter about how her house was holding up. It was empty, The Grangers were still in Australia, with their memory wiped.  She sat there writing for a good thirty minutes. After she sent it to The Weasley’s Burrow, She noticed it was late, and headed for bed.

Chapter 3

Ron POV

Ron sat in his bedroom at The Burrow, thinking about Hermione. He had seen her off on her train to her old home, and ever since then he was still worried about her. He didn’t even know what to think. She had seemed so… silent.

His thoughts were interrupted when his mom knocked on his door. Even though there were 8 people in the Burrow, it seemedempty without Fred, and Mrs. Weasley had been slacking on housework for a while, still mourning, and nobody had seen George since they came home.

After dinner, he went back into his room. He noticed something different, and he walked over to look at what it was. It was a letter, sent from Hermione. He decided to read it.

Chapter 4

Dear Ronald Weasley,

The house is doing fine. My parents are still in Australia with their memories wiped. I’m so worried about Harry, he’s been acting very odd lately. He should be happy, defeating Voldemort and all. I have also been trying to contact him but he’s not replying. Have you contacted him at all? Can’t wait to see you again.

 Love,

Hermione

Chapter 5

Harry POV

Harry kept getting letters from Hermione.  She sends them every day and it’s obvious that she is worried about him. Eventually she stopped writing as much, but she’s still sending letters and parcels to him.

He was thinking a lot lately and couldn’t seem to make any sense about what he was thinking about. It was mostly about  how he didn’t understand how he had The Elder Wand. Even though he had realized that it belonged to him, he didn’t know exactly why.

Eventually he got over it, and sent a letter back to

Hermione asking if he and Ginny could come over soon. He was going say something very surprising at the get-together, he and Ginny were engaged!
