It was a typical day. I wasn't expecting anything new or interesting to happen -sitting, waiting for an eye appointment. After filling out the paperwork and waiting awhile, the receptionist showed me into the exam room. It was a dimly lit room and I didn't see the doctor at first. He stood up from his stool and introduced himself, shaking my hand. He was a couple inches shorter than me which was unusual because I'm not tall myself. He was a bit stockier than me and had a nerdiness about him. His red hair was curly and a little longer than one might expect. He invited me to sit in the exam chair and explained the tests he was administering. At one point he rolled his stool close enough that his knee brushed slightly against my knee. Although I couldn't see exactly what was going on I knew, as he faced me that his right leg was between my legs. I wanted to test things out so I put my hand on my knee and everytime he asked if I could see the shapes on the left of the screen, I'dkind of lift my fingers in a slight movement. After doing this a couple times I felt my fingers brush against his leg. He moved in closer and I kept answering and brushing against his leg. Then he turned on his stool to reach something and pressed his leg tightly against mine. When he turned back our legs stayed pressed together. I was so excited that I couldn't concentrate. I was answering everything wrong. He said, "I think you're getting confused, let's take a break." He left the room and I calmed down. When he returned, he was smiling really big. I wanted to say something but didn't know what to say. We started the eye exam again - repeating the same closeness and then he put his hand on my thigh and said, "we're about out of time". He wrapped things up quickly and we stood there with bulges. We grasped each other's hands to shake and he prolonged it saying, "Is there anything else I can do for you.......I mean any questions you have for me?"........I wanted to kiss his nerdy face and take him to the floor. I wanted to grab that bulge beating in the brown polyester pants. But, I just said,"I can't think of anything". Looking at my wedding ring, he said, "I understand".
