He sat and  cried like he did when he was young, but he is grown

His boyish face behind the tears that tear at my soul

I hold him close to me like I have done many times when he was young,

I feel his pain in my flesh like ice water through my viens

I cannot take away his pain like I did when he was young

He would laugh when I would make a funny face, "I love you mommy"

"I love you too my sweet", The door closes, the officer pushes me away

I cannot help you now, I will be here as I always was, always will
