Those painful words

Tore into my skin

They lingered there to torment me

Like the piercing blade of a sword

You didn't even care about how I would feel

The pain you aroused will never heal

I feel trapped inside my own skin

Escaping with every binge

Still the pain from your words won't abate

There is only so much I  can take

The mirror has become my enemy

It reminds me of flaws unseen

You've succeeded in bringing me down?

Are you happy now?

My insecurities taunts me in my sleep

Reminding me that beauty is skin deep
