I woke up this morning alone in our bed My mind drifted off to a dream of life without you. I saw a broken man. a drunk living on the streets No hope no future, to many people hell he put them through.

People pass him by whispering and glares They shake their heads saying he had so much, something so dear Look at him now, everything he has lost He is broken and hopeless that's plain and clear.

For the love she poured out, he took for granted Forgiveness after forgiveness he refused to change his ways He pleaded and promised that he would be different But he always returned to his crazy phase

I laid there tossing and turning as the sweat poured out I could not believe what I was seeing Had I really thrown away all that I had These horrific sights I was foreseeing

I was trying to make sence of this scene before me Questions of my life, and the way I treated you Was I truly on the edge of losing it all Was this my chance to make it all new

Sunlight came shining through the window Rubbing my eyes as I try to come alive The thoughts of the dream still running through my head Knowing I must change, for our marriage to survive.

My phone goes off, as I'm drinking my coffee A simple text, saying I love you Smiling as I look up Thinking this I should've knew!
