Women are unfathomable, even when you are this close to them they still run as deep as the sea. I tried to capture this mysteriousness... Perhaps only a woman can truly understand another woman.

A thistle blown by more than the wind
Through cacti thorns
Through scorching heat
Past no oases
No shade from any palm trees

Her memoirs read: The wind is a friend
Cacti was nice in bed
How jealous he was, the sun
And as for you Oases,
Well, what you don’t know can’t hurt you…

A hundred years later her progeny discover a chest
In it a notebook
In its pages this-
Her daughters understand immediately
And smile
Her sons are stumped
They flounder around for a while uncomprehendingly
And then light a cigarette, or polish a shoe,
Or clean out their hunting rifles
Putting the notebook out of mind
