So I’ll sit here tonight
And let the stars fall apart
Wonder at the treacherous light
Cry inward tears of a fallen heart
Begin falling with that starlit stream
Just waiting on a sunbeam

Yes tonight I’ll sit lonely
Under this star drenched sky
And dream a dream of you and me
Of all that was said that bid it die
I am that star on this velvet night
Far away but still in sight

So tonight you’ll sit and wish on me
Bid me fall and leave the sky
But a fading light of what could be
Shimmer in your arms but unable to fly
I wish you could see its not you and me this time
Falling stars fall but no longer shine
