There is a music in me
A brutal melody
A broken symphony
A resonance that sings through me

The cords are dull and hurting
The notes are sharp and lilting
Strumming the strings of this melody,
Is a musician of my own intensity

Her fingers are taunt and bleeding
Eyes half closed, pain escalating
She lifts the strains of this cacophony
Into a bleeding melody

This is the music in me
Orchestrated in my vulnerability
This music that bleeds in me,
Strums my discordant insecurity

This song unsung is killing me
The words to it are a forgotten entity
So lost in this musical uncertainty

Bleeding from the melody
The only tourniquet left to me
…a new harmony
