It ravaged the corners of your mind
Seeping into the folds of your very design
Like a translucent opacity
Its very irreverence’s rendered your tenacity
Eating solidly at the heart of you
Wilting and desiccating you

I remember its moulding
And the encumbrance of its decay
Splitting you from the cord of me
Day by lonely day

And then came the apocalyptic hour
Where its genocide could spill,
No more blood
It had fed on your flesh and gorged it’s full,
For the last time
It had decadently taken you from the heart of me
Beyond thought, time, hope and love of me

I remember it like the second past
But the longer the months last
I see the coins other elapsed side
The truth of how you died
Gracefully submissively,
Knowing what the living cant

I begin
In the interminable awakening
To see
It took nothing from you
But everything from me
