I struggle to find the right words to express to you how I feel.

From the moment you first looked into my eyes, I knew that I would do anything in my power to keep you safe.

The first time you smiled at me I felt the happiness course through my body.

I knew when I wiped your tears away that I could not protect you from everything but I vowed to never cause you pain.

As time went by we both grew and learned, I realized that even though we had our own personalities you were still a part of me.

We taught each other the meaning of love and patience and that of acceptance and fear.

You hated when I had to go even just for a little while and I promised I would always return.

I hated to see you upset when I didn’t give in to your every whim.

Yet we love and share and continue grow.

I struggle every day knowing that there will come a time where you will no longer need me to wipe your tears away.

I hope and pray that I have been good enough.

I more than love you my child.
