all things, dark and ominous,
and bandaged heart.
Seems we can't find a moral balance,
as thousands die
on the evening news.

Wow! Short and sweet and gets your point across exquisitely. Proud to be your first like and comment. Come check some of my stuff out, if you like? I have many dark works and I'm sure you will find something you like. :)
Proud to be the recipient. Always preferred the night.
I will look; it's been a long time since I've read poetry.
Short and simple but there was really a lot of power in it. It said what needed to be said without droning on in long flowery metaphors, and I really liked that. Very good.
Thank you. I used to write long, metered and ridiculously prosaic 'poetry'; perhaps it was my earlier indulgence in Shelly and Byron (still two favourites). And then I started paying attention to song lyrics, reading Cohen and Bukowski and writing in bars. Five minute poems and I still cut more than I add when I edit.
Thank you again,
