Alexandra Devera, age 16, black hair, green eyes, pale skin:

I sit up from bed. Since when was I in my bedroom? I don't remember. I rush outside, in my PJs, to look for Casey, my BFF. But Casey is nowhere to be seen. I'm a little worried now. I look for my dog, my parents, my sister--not a single person is there. Is this some warped dream? My heart is pounding, or so it seems. I put my hand nervously on my chest: no pulse.

I'm scared. There's not a sound outside. Everything seems frozen, as if time has stopped. The world seems empty. For every moment that passes, I grow more and more frightened. This is confusing.

"Casey!" I cry. "Casey, where are you? Where's my family?"

I am welcomed by silence. I have never been so terrified. I can't even think straight. I don't know where I am, but this isn't reality, it can't be!

Casey Evonik, age 16, blonde hair, brown eyes, tan skin:

I am afraid. Is that a demon in front of me, calling my name? I am utterly bewildered. The demon is calling faintly, "Casey! Casey, where are you? Where's my family?" but I am too scared to answer. It limps past me, eyes wide and horrible.

I think this must be a dream, so I pinch myself hard. Nothing happens. This is bad. Really bad. There's really a demon in my BFF's house! She said we'd have a fun sleepover, not a horrifying one! Worst of all, I can't find anyone except this freaky demon. My heart races fearfully. I am confused, distressed, and scared all at the same time.

The demon sounds like Alexandra, but it can't be her. Alexandra isn't a creepy winged demon. No way! Still...the voice is so familiar, it tempts me to walk over and look.

The demon doesn't even regard me. It simply walks past me as if it cannot see me. I don't know if I'm relieved or upset about that.

El Kaze, age 17, dark brown hair, silver eyes, tan skin:

They aren't dead. No. Casey and Alexandra are "simply sleeping," as the doctor says. Still, I wonder what they are dreaming about? I hope it's a good dream, because Mother says they'll wake up never.

Still, I hope they do indeed wake up...

...both of them.
