Silence,

Delicate as the name,

Whispered, it shatters,

Wither away betwixt the breaths of desolation

Lost within the shrouds of darkness

Night passively retains

Memory,

If only so easy,

To bequeath, to stifle,

If only so simple, to lose one’s past,

As is to stutter

To part what frail lull you possess

If only pictures of past realities,

Did not hinder how

It sees oneself

Alone,

Beside yesterday’s shadow,

Stretching past one’s tomorrow,

With hopes and dreams misplaced behind you,

With no new light to misguide you,

What does that make one,

In today?

Lost,

With no thoughts

In a place,

Where too much time

Is spent

Wondering

Lachrymose,

Iridescent evanescence,

Fall away from me.

Break the silence with your splash,

And make me ponder,

Was it really ever even there

At all?
