My name is Parker, and I survived the apocalypse. Sorry, I’m getting ahead of myself. Let me start from the beginning. It all started a month ago, when the world’s largest, and deadliest, storm began. It was during school, in the middle of lunch, when all of a sudden the sky went from being cloudless and blue to being gloomy and dark. As if someone had flipped a switch, it suddenly began to rain ferociously. There was a strike of lightning, and with that the school lost power. The rain kept falling, and the massive buildup of water caused the ground to grow into ankle-deep water. My friend Justin and I were too busy kicking the water at other students to realize the urgency of the situation, but soon the teachers were telling all of the students go home, because it was obviously no longer safe to resume classes. I called my parents, but they told me to just go home with Justin because they didn’t want to drive in the rain. Driving to Justin’s house, we saw several more lightning strikes in the distance, but nothing else other than that. By the time we got to Justin’s house, the water from the rain had raised up to our knees. We went inside, only to find that the water level was the same inside his house as it was outside. As we walked upstairs and as soon as we reached the top step- Boom- the whole house shook as the sound of a massive explosion overtook our ears. We looked at each other, shocked and confused, then bolted down the steps to see what had made the enormous noise. We went outside, and there, sitting in front of us, was a meteor the size of the house it had just destroyed.
