Lay me down

To rest.

Vow for

Tomorrow’s best.

Roll your fingers

Down my hair.

Caress my dreams

With tender care.

Tuck me in

Ever so tight.

Shower me with kisses,

Infused with might.

Pray beside my bed

For my soul to last.

I’m moving slow;

The sickness is moving fast.

Stare into me

And into my wide-open eyes.

Avoid sadness,

Fill my head with blissful lies.

When you go,

Don’t close the door.

What if tonight’s our last…

What if?  Or?

Worry not about the light.

I’ll turn it down low.

It’s a reminder.

Soon, I’ll have to go.
