I wandered alone in the ever-lasting darkness.

My body would perk up at any simmer of light.

Slowly but surely, my mind was becomming a mess.

I needed to find my way; even if it took all my might.

I hopped over logs, through trees, over others, until I saw the Forest God.

His eery voice tingled my body with the release of each word.

"S-s-snakes.  T-t-time is c-c-coming; you alone... are the one for this j-j-job."

"No, no.  It can't be me; it must be another bird."

So, I flew away from the righteous and the rules.

I took into my hands, and squahsed  the path that they chose.

I couldn't face it; the prophecy was just too cruel.

It hit me like an unexpected snowstorm; immediately, I froze.

Then, I saw the face of my past and present.

She said to be strong; that she made me a bird that could do it all.

In my rage, I shrieked, "Go die.  You know nothing.  You are ancient.

Why do you all want to see me fall?"

I ran away crying.

There had to be a way out.

If it wasn't for trying,

my life, then and there, would have taken a timeout.

But it didn't; I knew what I had to do.

It was my only option.  Time had come.

Equipped with the right attire, right weapons, and my favorite snack: bamboo.

I left my village and began the adventure of awesome.

No one heard from me for days.

They had thought I must've reached success.

I told them not to send me; this just wasn't my day.

They found me with my yellow now red dress.
