More unique than a Faberge egg,
More valued than an oyster's black pearl,
This little gem that you and I made -
Our own creation, our little girl.

Beautiful, Patri;I know she'll appreciate this!
Thank you. This is one of the few serious poems I've written. Glad you liked it :)
Your love is the shield that she will carry to protect her in this world. Well done.
Thanks, Bob :) I don't write a lot of serious poetry, as you know. I'm so glad you liked it. Thanks for the wonderful comment!
Delightful! My little gem is near 16 now and is as expensive as a black pearl. Just the way it should be, frighten the boys off! Dibs
Thanks so much for the read. They do seem to get more expensive with age, don't they? Her father is definitely dreading the dating stage and hopes the boys will at least be frightened of him. LOL
I really like this! Short, clear message and just beautiful. Great job :D
Thanks! I wrote this for my daughter, who is definitely the light of my life:)
I left a comment here about a week ago and I never got a response from you so I checked back and no comment. This aggravates me because it is not fair for either person.
The miracle of birth is magnified by the love between the parents and the love from the parents. I can think of no other joy in the world that compares!
Thank you so much for re-commenting. I saw your first comment and responded, but nothing showed up and then I couldn't find the comment at all. I've been having some problems with this since Booksie said they were "undergoing changes". I hope they work out the problems because it is aggravating. That being said, I'm grateful for the feedback on this one, as I don't write many serious poems. She is definitely my best creation by far :)
Beautiful, she will love this!
Thanks so much for reading, every word of this poem is true :)
I like short poems, and this was no exception. Short but very very sweet :-)
Thanks foe reading and commenting. My daughter is a priceless gem to me and this poem is straight from my heart!
