I lost you in a dream

Numbed among steps and sounds, lost in the never-ending murmur

The cold morning hurts my face pointing to the ground

I step away from the shadows, run towards silence, but cold follows me everywhere I go

I sit in front of the river waiting for time to pass. Just on more minute, I promise

The invisible depth like anesthesia for my eyes, out of instinct I close them

In the darkness I ask for a dream, but you are all that I see

The sound of your voice rising to the surface, brings me back to the past

In your eyes the reflection of another woman, in your skin another perfume

I feel your breath whispering in my ear, but is only the wind

I wish for an opportunity to turn back time

As much as I think off you, I don’t have you

I open my eyes and you’re not there. Colors blend in tears

Static trees pretend movement

Afraid I escape from my memory. But I find you everywhere

I lost sense of time; the same streets now look different

Lights slowly fade, sounds remain.

The immensity of the night all over me. I drown remembering you’re gone

I walk anywhere, I’ll go where the wind drags me

Without knowing, it brings me back to the start

I look for you everywhere, but no longer find you

I close my eyes and look for you in memories, but you fade with the lights into black

Please tell me all of this is nothing but a dream
