Margaret and Marta were lesbians. They brought their children together when they seperated from their husbands. Margaret had always loved Yosemite. So for her 40th birthday Marta rented a cabin in Yosemite for Margaret and the family. Going to Yosemite was not their only vacation that summer. Two weeks before going to Yosemite the Glazer-Loop family visited New York City. They went to The Statue of Liberty, saw Ground Zero, went to the Museum of Natural History, ate hot dogs on the steps of the Metropolitan Museum of Art. They also saw the Broadway shows Aida and Phantom of the Opera. Then they walked across the Brooklyn Bridge. One night for dinner they ate at Terrace on the Green in Central Park. When the Glazer-Loop family got home to Reno, Nevada they could not wait for their trip to Yosemite. Marco, Margaret's second son had a baseball tournament, so the Glazer-Loop family could not travel to Yosemite together. Marta went to Yosemite on a Friday. Margaret was to follow the next day. Friday dawned clear and bright and Marta started out with Libby, Kathy, and Bernard. They drove south on 395 through Carson City, Gardnerville, and Bishop. Marta had forgot her cell phone charger at home, so she had limited access to the phone. As they were just outside of Gardnerville, Marta was talking to Margaret on the phone. The battery on the phone was almost dead. While Marta and Margaret were talking on the phone a big corpulent semi passed by Marta's car at a high rate of speed. It shook the car quite violently. "Oh shit." Said Marta into the phone. At the same moment the battery went dead and the connection was lost. Marta just put the phone down and said, "Oh well." And they continued their drive to Yosemite, and got there in record time. Margaret on the other hand was extremly distraught. Marta had said "Oh shit" and then the phone disconnected. Margaret thought they had gotten in a wreck. She was scared, angry, and sad. She thought half of her family was dead. She was so worried that she called Nevada Highway Patrol to see if there was a wreck on 395 just outside of Gardnerville. Luckily there was not, and the next day Margaret took the rest of the family to Yosemite. As they were pulling up to the cabin, the half of the family that had arrived the previous day came out to greet them. "Marta, said Margaret, do you remember the last words you said to me?" "No, replied Marta, I do not." "You said oh shit! You had me so worried Marta." Said Margaret. "I'm sorry Margaret, I truly am." Responded Marta. And with that they walked into the beautiful cabin to spend a glorious week in Yosemite. All was well!
