If I were you and you were me
How very different we would be
I’d be young, without a care
You’d be old with greying hair

I would dress in the latest trends
Dance the night away with my friends
You’d stay home with scones and tea
Whilst I’d stay out till half past three

You would read and write a poem
For such boring stuff I’d have no time
You would tell me, “don’t be late”
I’d rush out the door saying “please don’t wait”

But on reflection I feel quite tired
Think I’ll cancel that cab I hired
I’ll put my feet up and feel sure you’ll agree
It's best you stay you and I’ll stay me
