I wish that I was born a boy
And grown to six foot two.
I wish I was a genious
In everything I do.

I wish that I could dance and sing
Just like Fred Astaire.
I wish that when it comes to looks
I was sleek and debonair!

I wish I knew the thing to say
When someone feels real sad.
I wish my smile and cheery word
Could help to make them glad

But I was born a female
of only five foot tall.
When it comes to Maths and Physics'
I am no good, at all.

I cannot sing a note in tune
And dancing's not my flair.
My figure isn't overweight
But not sleek, or, debonair!!

But I somehow know the thing to say
When someones feeling sad.
I think my smile and cheery word
Does help to make them glad.

So when it comes to wishes
I'll be content with who I am and what I do.
If I can make a sad man happy
All my wishes have come true.
