Based on observing our family cat, to whom, I am sure, my family and I are simply servants, except for the dog, who she sees as a plaything to be mocked.

Carefully, stealthily,

Silence within a dream.

Queen of those she surveys,

Darting eyes of flashing green.

Gracefully she saunters,

The cat, who wants, the cream.

Curling, sinuously,

Her tail quietly speaks.

With alert, dangerous eyes,

Cunningly she peeks.

Patiently demanding,

The cream she avidly seeks.

Longingly, lovingly,

She does gently press.

Bathing one’s attention,

In her soft feline caress.

Brushing closely by,

With silken tenderness.

Purring, contentedly,

Unabashed by her scheme.

Concealing sharpened claws,

A mischievousness unseen.

Cleansing delicate whiskers,

The cat, who’s had, the cream.
