Christmas Prayer

I still believe in Santa Claus And stories by the fire In Christmas trees & holly leaves And carols from a choir.

The smell of cookies baking The crispness of the air The joyful sounds of laughter And goodwill everywhere.

My Christmas wish this season, My plea to heaven above Is what I pray for every day... For us to SHARE THE LOVE.

There'd be no one who suffers The holiday alone And everyone would have a place And family to call Home.

And food for every belly, A hat for every head A hearth that's filled with stockings And a warm & cozy bed.

There'd be more understanding, More gentle, listening ears And compassion overflowing Squelching every childhood fear.

The warm and kindly greeting Would last the whole year through And all would be forgiven Each friendship born anew.

So let us all be grateful For God's Love has come down The babe lay in a manger Born to wear a thorny crown.

Our Savior, Christ! The king of kings! Was born to show us how To live as Love right here on earth And at His feet I bow.

Oh Jesus! How I love thee. I ask that you impart The blessing of your Holy birth On every gentle heart.

Let all who have be thankful And share unselfishly And be Your light to others That they may truly see

That LOVE, it is the answer To every human error May every heart be sanctified. This is my Christmas prayer.
