Although they have forced their enemies, the Fair Folk, back into the darkness of the night, humanity is waning. The New Kingdom, once the dominant force of its day, is being sapped by political intrigue and costly wars. The Five Duchies, lands once part of the New Kingdom squabble for prestige and power, letting the lands east become wild and dark once more, separating the two greatest blocs of Human power in the West. Humanity needs time, time to to regroup... time they may not have.
