This poem was written during a very dark time in my life where I had experienced ongoing rejection from men. It expresses what my heart and soul felt like during that horrific time.

Oh my heart, my aching heart.

My heart aches because of what could have been

And what should have been.

With every hour that passes,

it aches a little more, and it breaks a little more.

This wretched pain consumes me daily

Destroying all hope of what was to be, of what could be.

Stripping my soul of all feelings of : hope, joy and love,

Leaving only an empty shell, where there is none.

Oh my heart, my aching heart, will you ever mend?

So I can have a new start?

A start of a new life, hopes and dreams;

But for this moment in time I fear not,

Oh my heart, my aching heart.
