ABSTRACT
A survey of groundwater in Yenagoa and it’s environ was conducted to established its current levels of pollution by trace metals. Water sample were collected from underground well and analysed by atomic absorption spectrophotometer. The mean values of temperature, pH, conductivity hardness, dissolved solid and Alkalinity of the water were 21.7OC, 4.3, 0.04 µmhoscm-1 52 ppm 42 ppm and 28 ppm respectively, and they were all within the WHO maximum desirable limits. The mean concentration of Iron (5.32 ppm) Lead (0.15 ppm) where higher than the WHO maximum desirable for drinking water. This implies that proper physical and chemical treatment is highly recommended before its use as domestic water supply.
