I can see my reflection,

in the broken glass.

I'm taken by endless recollection,

of my fragmented past.

There's nothing behind the eyes,

of a lost soul.

Distorted by all of the lies.

All of the light, they stole.

I cannot surpass,

feeling hollow.

A ship without a mast,

and nothing to show.

My effort,

always seems to fail.

All I exert,

and the ship doesn't sail.

How many times,

can a heart be shattered,

before the rhymes

become an infinite chatter?

The pieces are all here,

but they won't fit together.

Nothing is clear,

and nothing lasts forever.

There isn't anything

behind the eyes

of a lost soul.
