This is a poem about how we look away from the truth, simply because it's easier not to notice.

We see a hand reaching out for help.

We see a soul in desperate need.

We see eyes so wearily pained.

But still we don’t extend a hand. A task so easily dealt.

But still we keep on walking. Our hearts filled with greed.

But still we turn a blind eye. Just how sick can we be?

Don’t pretend that you don’t notice.

Because I know that we all do.

We pass them on the streets.

We see them in the halls.

We stand watching, as their engulfed by the pain.

But still we remain our paste.

But still we say nothing.

But still we pretend not to notice.

Deceiving only ourselves.
