Once upon a time……….Ryan and his sister, Charlie, were playing hide-and-go-seek with their parents. Little did they know they were about to embark on an exciting journey. They walked into their basement and saw something or someone. So as normal little kids they went to explore. They found a ghost sitting in the corner. The ghost looked young like them. Ryan was 9 and Charlie was 7. They asked what was wrong and the ghost couldn’t hear them. He was deaf. Ryan and Charlie didn’t know that. The ghost couldn’t write either because the pen would just fall through his hand. So Ryan and Charlie had no way of knowing anything about why he wasn’t responding. They tried to show him to their parents but the parents couldn’t see him. The kids didn’t know what to do. They tried having a computer speak other languages to him but he still didn’t respond. Charlie said, “Maybe he doesn’t want to talk to us.’’ The ghost shook his head no. Ryan said, “then what is it?’’ The ghost tried sign language, but the kids didn’t know what it stood for. The kids showed their parents a couple of the signs and they told them it was sign language. Ryan and Charlie asked if they could learn sign language. The parents didn’t quite understand why they wanted to learn just because they saw the “ghost’’ do it. Ryan said he wanted to learn so he could communicate with the ghost. Charlie asked why people had to do that. Her mother told her it was because they couldn’t ear. She said then I want to learn so I can communicate with people who can`t hear. It isn’t fair if I can hear and they can`t. “How come they can`t hear mommy?, asked Charlie. Her mother answered, “They were either just born that way or they had damage to their ears.’’ Charlie and Ryan still wanted to learn sign. So there parents let them learn from a tutor. The children learned the language in 2 weeks. By then they had been talking to the little ghost boy for a week now. He told them how he died and who his parents were. He also told them about how old he was and what his life was like. The boy lived a very sad life. He was a foster child. During the holidays, he had to sit in his room with his other foster siblings. His foster mother was really nice but his foster father was abusive. He hit him and his foster mother. He never got presents for Christmas. He never got to go trick-or-treating. He never got a birthday present. They didn’t even tell him happy birthday except for his foster mother and if she was caught the father would beat both of them. The little boy warned Ryan about being too mean to his sister and if he did he was afraid his dad would hurt him. Ryan didn’t believe the little boy. The little boy took Ryan and Charlie on an adventure. He showed them everything until the day they died. Ryan finally believed him. Charlie didn’t understand why Ryan would do that anyway. Ryan said that he didn’t think he would do that either especially to his sister. The ghost told them that Ryan had anger problems that he gained as he got older from his dad. Ryan promised he would work on it. Years passed and Ryan had never hit his sister until one day. Ryan`s dad told him he better work on his attitude. The little ghost boy visited him again and asked him why he did it. He said he had no clue why he had hit his sister. She said she didn’t care why as long as he didn’t do it again. The little ghost boy said if he did hit her again he would be beaten and he told him that it`s not fun too. Years passed again, he still hasn’t hit his sister. The ghost returned and told him that he wouldn’t be able to visit him again because he was becoming an adult and wouldn’t be able to communicate with him anymore.
