He arrived with night
and began to steal
All the dreams
I knew to be real
His bag of swag
heavy and wet
I was left blank
confused and upset
Only shades of grey
travel the winds of my mind
Void of imagination
and always unkind

Alice promised the red pill
would take me deep
Paint a rainbow on my dreams
as I sleep
My head on pillow
my eyes shut tight
Faint dabs of yellow
colour my sight
Then bold reds
deep meaningful blues
Zebras jump the moon
in purple shoes

Once again my dreams
were damp with hue
Bold with brilliance
shiney and new
