And where now fall

those petals of good fortune

Upon whose garden

boast those colours bright

The distant whisper

that was once a scream

I fail to decipher

I have no tools to decode

Yet my eyes

search the grey skies

My ear presses

to the earth below

So empty, so quiet

I request your return

Tears soak

the muted response

My questions unanswered

truths concealed

I raise my glass

to my shadow of anguish

They mirror my gesture

they drink to my woe

They share my downturn

my journey is theirs
