It was early one morning

over coffee and toast

I first felt the flushed breeze

of a friendly ghost

Her translucent smile

let me know

I had nothing to fear

from her warm blue glow

She had a slow gentle voice

introducing her self as Ruth

We would muse for hours

revisiting her youth

I soon discovered she had died

Her then ageing body had surrendered

to the cold of snow

Even in death she found delight

in all things warm

I would lay two towels

for us to bathe on the lawn

She told me to never fear love

or natures grace

Surrender my heart to others and know

we dwell in Gods space

Her visits lasted a couple of weeks

and I miss her now she is gone

My mind set has changed

knowing even after death, life goes on
