I woke this morning to find

over twenty well wrapped joys

Each intriguing shape

concealing my most wished for toys

Santa had visited

at some point in the night

My bedroom a stop

on his once a year global flight

I had heard something

our chimney had shook

I sensed heavy footsteps

but was too frightened to look

I began to unwrap the gifts

at a frantic pace

Wrapping in the air

and a big smile on my face

I finally came to the biggest box

and gave a huge cheer

Danced with excitement, declaring

I love this time of year”

It was a green dinosaur

that actually roars

Opened my window

and screamed ”Thank you Santa Claus”

Of all those he visits

I must be by far the luckiest lad

I go to other bedroom and

share my happiness with Mum and Dad
