I Seek Those Voices

Poem by: Philip H20s

Summary

Every now and again I hear briefly the sound of humanity, our spiritual whisper trying to be heard over the volume of reality.

I seek those voices

which help bring harmony

When all too briefly

a shadow of collaboration appears

The wrongs of man

are beaten down by a blanket of good

The wounded

feel the bandage of love

Removed shrapnel

spins in a a silver dish of kindness

Broken bones

repair in an oval glass of hope

I seek those voices

which confirm a chant of humanity

A single verse

to show we can be united

Our ill fated destiny challenged

by a song of change

The tortured

free from their shackles

The condemned

hear the sound of appeal

The oppressed

acquire a voice of opposition

I seek those voices

which crown a candle with light

A torch of spirit

held by each hand of difference

Exposing our mistakes

confronting the evil that lurks within us all
