If unspoilt Caribbean sands

were my childhood

Complete with doting palm trees

and crystal topped seas

Then the yellow rivers of Manhattan

are my here and now

Forever caught in a tide

of too much to do

There are no one way tickets

back to yesterday

Only a hole ridden vessel

destined to sink into tomorrow
