Smoke Of The Mind

Poem by: Philip H20s

Summary

A trigger in the mind, allows someone to stare into the void of death and see an island. The island only offers time and peace to refind the trigger.

Taut wire hides within the smoke of the mind

Translucent to the eye and impossible to find

Secured in childhood

stretched to deaths door

Memories of truth

travel its core

The intention was you should one day slip

Snagged by its cord, and allowed to trip

Stare teary eyed

into the moment you died

Dizzy on the crest

of a moon controlled tide

Upon some distant beach your anchor falls

Images of clouds adorn four walls

Stretched on a towel

you stare until blind

Searching once again

amongst the smoke of the mind
